Pakistan will be represented by four wrestlers at the Asian Games 2026, scheduled to be held in Nagoya, Japan, later this year.
The continental event will take place from September 19 to October 4 and is expected to feature athletes from across Asia competing in multiple disciplines.
According to officials, Pakistan’s wrestling contingent will include Inayatullah in the 74kg category, Muhammad Abdullah in the 65kg category, Nauman Zaka in the 86kg division, and Muhammad Gulzar in the 97kg category.
Pakistan preparing multi-sport contingent
In addition to wrestling, Pakistan’s men’s and women’s cricket teams are expected to participate in the Games.
The national hockey team is also set to compete, while a Pakistani delegation of around 200 athletes and officials is anticipated to attend the event.
The Asian Games will be hosted in Nagoya, bringing together some of the continent’s top athletes.
Federations asked to submit final squads
Sports authorities have directed national federations to submit their final squads by June 10.
The finalized entries will help determine the size and composition of Pakistan’s contingent for one of Asia’s largest multi-sport events.
Officials expect further announcements regarding team selections and preparations in the coming weeks as the country finalizes its participation plans
