The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released its latest player rankings, with four Pakistani cricketers registering improvements in their respective standings.
According to the updated rankings, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Abrar Ahmed have all moved up in the rankings.
Root and Bumrah retain top positions
In the Test batting rankings, Joe Root retained the No. 1 position. New Zealand batter Rachin Ravindra climbed two places to ninth, while no Pakistani batter currently features in the top 10.
Mohammad Rizwan moved up one place to 20th in the Test batting rankings, while Babar Azam also gained one spot to reach 21st position.
New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter Tom Blundell made one of the biggest gains, rising eight places to 40th.
Noman Ali remains Pakistan’s highest-ranked Test bowler
In the Test bowling rankings, Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah maintained his position at the top of the standings.
Australian captain Pat Cummins moved up one place to third position.
Among Pakistani bowlers, Noman Ali retained seventh place, remaining the country’s highest-ranked Test bowler in the latest ICC rankings.
