Former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Chaudhry Abdul Majeed, has commended Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, for his recent visit to Bhimber, a district located near the Line of Control (LoC). He emphasized that the display of unity by AJK’s political leadership and Hurriyat leaders during the visit sent a powerful message to the world that the Kashmiri people’s unwavering bond with Pakistan transcends political affiliations.
Chaudhry Abdul Majeed remarked that this visit would bring a new momentum to the Kashmir freedom movement and boost the morale of Kashmiri brethren in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK). He also highlighted the foundation stone-laying ceremony of a Danish School in Bhimber as a testament to the love and solidarity of the Pakistani people with Kashmiris.
Comparing the visit to those of Indian leaders in IOJK, he stated that while PM Shehbaz Sharif’s visit was conducted with openness and without disrupting public life, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visits IOJK under the shadow of heavy military presence, curfews, and armored vehicles.
Chaudhry Abdul Majeed lauded the government of Pakistan and its armed forces for their clear and courageous stance on the Kashmir cause. He noted that PM Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Bhimber had bolstered the resolve of those striving for the completion of Pakistan in IOJK and conveyed a strong message to India that Kashmiris and Pakistanis have been united since eternity and will remain so forever.
He also praised AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq for fostering an atmosphere of political harmony, mutual unity, and brotherhood in the region. Acknowledging Anwar-ul-Haq’s efforts towards establishing a corruption-free state, he noted that these initiatives would have long-term positive effects.
The establishment of a university and the Danish School System in Bhimber, according to Majeed, reflects Anwar-ul-Haq’s commitment to promoting education. These projects will benefit future generations and provide access to quality education to underprivileged and orphaned children, irrespective of political affiliations.
Chaudhry Abdul Majeed further stressed that the foundation of a strong, modern education system is vital for eradicating social backwardness and plays a key role in the development of any state. He congratulated the people of Bhimber on these initiatives, crediting PM Anwar-ul-Haq for securing these projects from the federal government.
He concluded by reiterating that AJK is the base camp for the Kashmir freedom movement. Establishing unity and solidarity in the region’s political environment is crucial for advancing the freedom struggle and achieving the vision of Pakistan. Rising above political motives and prioritizing national objectives is essential to securing the Kashmiri people’s inalienable right to self-determination.
