ISLAMABAD: Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza (PoP, T.I.) attended the 3rd International Conference on Media & Communication (ICMAC 2026) as chief guest at Foundation University Islamabad, where she highlighted the importance of ethical responsibility, trust and creativity alongside the growing use of artificial intelligence in media.
Themed “Media Dynamics in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Innovation, Trust, Creativity and Sustainability in the Digital World,” the conference brought together academics, media professionals and researchers from Germany, the United States, Sri Lanka and Türkiye, along with representatives from 13 partner universities across Pakistan.
Focus on AI and Ethical Media
Addressing the conference, Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza said artificial intelligence is transforming digital communication, information production and content creation. She stressed that human values such as trust, creative integrity and ethical responsibility remain important as new technologies reshape the media landscape.
She also highlighted the role of higher education institutions in preparing students and researchers to critically assess emerging technologies, identify digital misinformation and promote responsible use of AI tools.
Conference Explores Emerging Media Trends
The conference featured academic sessions on human-AI collaboration, digital storytelling, algorithmic bias, media literacy and sustainable digital entrepreneurship.
Researchers and media practitioners discussed the opportunities and challenges created by the rapid development of artificial intelligence and its growing influence on digital communication.
Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza’s participation as chief guest also provided an opportunity for FJWU to engage with academics and researchers from Pakistan and abroad on emerging issues in media, technology and higher education.
