Pakistan defeated India by four wickets in their Group C clash at the Hong Kong Sixes tournament after the captains of both teams once again avoided the customary handshake before the match.

The incident occurred at Mong Kok’s Mission Road Ground during the toss, when Pakistan captain Abbas Afridi won the toss and elected to bowl first. Indian captain Krunal Pandya and Afridi did not shake hands, recalling a similar incident during the 2025 Asia Cup in Dubai involving India’s Suryakumar Yadav and Pakistan’s Salman Ali Agha.

Despite the off-field tension, Pakistan delivered a dominant performance to secure a convincing victory.

Abbas Afridi Smashes Five Sixes in One Over

India scored 88 runs for the loss of five wickets in their allotted six overs. Shashank Singh led the scoring with an explosive 40 off just 11 deliveries.

Pakistan responded aggressively, with Abbas Afridi taking 31 runs off Krunal Pandya’s first over, including five sixes.

Pakistan chased down the target in just 3.5 overs, sealing a four-wicket victory.

Afridi smashed 35 runs off eight balls, while Khawaja Nafay remained unbeaten on 41 from 12 deliveries to guide Pakistan home in emphatic fashion.

The result highlighted Pakistan’s batting firepower in the fast-paced format, with Afridi’s explosive over proving a decisive moment in the contest.
