Islamabad: Global magazine Washington Times declared Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir as the Man of Steel.

According to the Washington Times Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir could become President Trump’s new strategic partner in South Asia. The publication highlighted leadership qualities of COAS by underlining his nerves of steel and strong ability to take tough decisions. In the U.S., Field Marshal is regarded as the most influential figure for South Asia’s security, and the army chief is considered a professional, reserved and disciplined military head, the publication stated.

According to the publication, Field Marshal had no interest in self-projection and politics; however, during the recent skirmishes of Pakistan and India, his popularity rose significantly.

The Washington Times also analyzed that these qualities of COAS Asim Munir make him a natural strategic partner for American President Trump in the region. Commenting on the recent skirmishes between the two nuclear powers of South Asia, the publication underscored the strategic importance of the Field Marshal’s meeting with Trump.

The Washington Times underscored Pakistan’s decision to thank President Trump as he facilitated the ceasefire between the two countries.

The publication also highlighted the significant role that Pakistan played in the Western theatre of Afghanistan, where it has significantly contained the threat of terrorism and has also arrested the mastermind of the Kabul Airport attack, which earned the country thanks from President Trump.

Pakistan’s calculated role in the recent Iran-Israel standoff was also highlighted by the publication, as the strategic engagement between Pakistan and the Trump administration grew stronger.
