FIA Arrests Suspect in Italy Work Visa Scam

RAWALPINDI: The Federal Investigation Agency’s Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) Rawalpindi has arrested a man accused of allegedly defrauding a citizen of millions of rupees by promising an Italy work visa.

The suspect, identified as Raja Wajahat Iqbal, was arrested during an operation conducted by the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Rawalpindi.

According to the FIA, a case numbered 693/26, dated September 30, 2026, has been registered against the suspect at the FIA AHTC Rawalpindi police station.

The suspect is accused of taking Rs2.75 million from the complainant after promising to arrange an Italian work visa for the complainant’s daughter.

The FIA said the suspect allegedly failed to provide the promised visa and did not return the money, causing financial loss to the complainant.

The arrest was carried out under the supervision of investigation officer Sub-Inspector Zafar Iqbal. Further investigation is underway, and investigators are examining other aspects of the case.

FIA Islamabad Zone Director Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari said the agency was continuing action against individuals involved in human trafficking and visa fraud.

He advised citizens seeking employment or visas abroad to use only legal and verified channels and to exercise caution when dealing with visa and overseas employment agents.
