Mirpur — Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan, SAFRON, and President of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Engineer Amir Muqam, delivered a powerful address at a grand public gathering titled “Ma’araka-e-Haq” organized by PML-N Azad Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of Youm-e-Takbeer in Khari Sharif, Mirpur.

Upon his arrival, Minister Amir Muqam received a rousing welcome from party workers and local leaders. Flower petals were showered along his route, and traditional hospitality was expressed with a procession led by nearly two dozen horsemen. Enthusiastic crowds waved party flags and chanted patriotic slogans such as “Pakistan Zindabad,” “Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Zindabad,” “Pakistan Army Zindabad,” and “Engineer Amir Muqam Zindabad.”

The gathering was organized by Chaudhry Rukhsar Ahmed, former central coordination secretary of PML-N, and featured speeches by several senior leaders of PML-N Azad Jammu and Kashmir, including Shah Ghulam Qadir, former Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider, Chaudhry Tariq Farooq, Dr. Najeeb Naqi, Masood Khalid, Sardar Farooq Sikandar, Iftikhar Gilani, Zulfiqar Ali Malik, and Javed Qadir, among others.

Addressing the large crowd, Federal Minister Amir Muqam congratulated the nation on the historic day of Youm-e-Takbeer, marking the anniversary of Pakistan’s successful nuclear tests in 1998. “On May 28, Pakistan gave a befitting response to India’s nuclear tests by conducting six nuclear detonations, thereby making its defense impregnable,” he said.

He credited PML-N leader and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for making Pakistan the first nuclear power in the Islamic world and the seventh globally, despite immense international pressure. “This remarkable achievement is a symbol of the patriotic leadership of the PML-N,” he said.

Amir Muqam emphasized that this year’s Youm-e-Takbeer was particularly significant, as it follows Pakistan’s recent military success in response to India’s aggression. He recounted the Indian attack on the night of May 6–7, which resulted in civilian casualties and forced Pakistan to respond. He hailed the Pakistan Armed Forces for their professionalism, bravery, and decisive counteraction, calling it a new chapter in military history.

He extended heartfelt congratulations to Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and all personnel of Pakistan’s armed forces for their exceptional service and protection of national sovereignty.

Muqam praised the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, under whose guidance the nation stood united during the crisis. “We witnessed extraordinary unity and determination across the country,” he noted.

The minister also reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to the development of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting the approval of the Mirpur Airport project and funding for the completion of the Rathua-Haryam Bridge. He pledged continued support for resolving the region’s issues and emphasized raising the voice of brave Kashmiris on every platform.

Strongly condemning India’s atrocities in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, he paid tribute to the Kashmiri people’s unwavering spirit and their unbreakable bond with Pakistan. “Kashmiris are filled with a deep passion for Pakistan and its army, and I salute their courage,” he said. “This sentiment is what sets us apart from India—our people stand shoulder to shoulder with our armed forces.”

He also reflected on the historical struggle for Kashmir’s freedom and stated that today’s generation remains ready to follow the footsteps of their ancestors — whether as martyrs or victors — in the defense of their homeland.

Local leadership and thousands of attendees celebrated Youm-e-Takbeer with great enthusiasm. Speakers paid tribute to Nawaz Sharif’s bold decision to proceed with nuclear tests and hailed the day as a symbol of Pakistan’s strength, sovereignty, and strategic resilience.
