SIALKOT: The Federal Board of Revenue held a tax awareness session at the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry to brief business representatives on recent tax reforms, taxpayer facilitation measures and voluntary compliance.
The session was organized by FBR’s Taxpayers’ Services Wing in collaboration with representatives of the Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sialkot. It was part of the tax authority’s outreach campaign to strengthen engagement with traders, industrialists and women entrepreneurs.
The session was held on the instructions of FBR Chairman Rashid Mahmood Langrial and under the supervision of Member Taxpayers’ Services Tehmina Aamer.
The FBR delegation included Muhammad Muti-ur-Rehman Mumtaz, Secretary Tax Education and Facilitation, and Abdul Rehman Sheikh, Second Secretary Tax Facilitation.
Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Syed Ahtesham Mazhar, Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sialkot President Dr Maryam Nouman, executive members and representatives of the business community attended the session.
FBR briefs participants on tax reforms
Muhammad Muti-ur-Rehman Mumtaz briefed participants on the role and functions of the FBR and gave a presentation on tax awareness and reforms introduced to improve taxpayer services.
Participants were briefed on several initiatives, including Point of Sale integration, the Track and Trace System, Digital Invoicing, the Faceless Customs System, the Cargo Tracking System, the Direct Port Delivery System, the Reward and Rating System, and the use of video analytics for production monitoring in different sectors.
According to the FBR, these reforms are aimed at improving transparency, broadening the tax base, facilitating taxpayers and building public confidence in the tax administration.
Participants appreciated the outreach initiative and said continued engagement between the FBR and the business community was important for promoting voluntary tax compliance.
The event concluded with the distribution of souvenirs among representatives of the participating organizations.
