Digital reforms and enforcement tools highlighted

Officials outlined several key initiatives, including Point of Sale (POS) integration, the Track and Trace system, digital invoicing, faceless customs processes, cargo tracking and direct port delivery systems.

Participants were also informed about the use of video analytics for monitoring production, which has already been implemented in the sugar and cement sectors and is being extended to the textile industry.

According to FBR officials, these measures are intended to broaden the tax base, strengthen enforcement through data-driven systems and improve trust between taxpayers and authorities.

Business community engagement and feedback

The session was attended by RCCI Vice President Fahad Barlas, along with executive members of the chamber. In his remarks, Barlas acknowledged the importance of tax collection for economic development and shared concerns of the business community, along with proposals to address challenges faced by traders and industry.

Participants raised a range of tax-related queries, which were addressed by FBR officials during an interactive discussion.

The session concluded with a question-and-answer segment and an exchange of souvenirs between FBR and RCCI representatives.
