ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has directed all field formations to implement the government’s decision to reduce fuel allocations for government vehicles by 50 percent for three months.
According to an official communication issued by the FBR, the reduction will take effect immediately and all relevant field formations have been instructed to ensure compliance with the government’s decision.
However, the directive excludes operational vehicles and vehicles used for essential services from the 50 percent fuel reduction.
The FBR clarified that the exemption is limited to vehicles directly involved in operational and essential-service duties. Administrative and other non-operational vehicles of the exempted departments will remain subject to the fuel reduction.
The relevant authorities have also been directed to communicate the fuel-budget requirements of operational vehicles to ensure that essential functions are not affected.
The FBR has instructed its field formations to implement the fuel-saving measure in accordance with the government’s decision while maintaining fuel availability for operational activities.
