The Directorate General for Immigration and Passports announced on Monday a major expansion of the Fast Track passport feature. The service was first offered in seven major cities, including Quetta, Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar. It was later expanded to 21 cities. After expanding the facility to another 26 cities, Fast Track now offers a total of 47 locations. Newly added cities include Attock, Haripur, Chakwal, Batkhela, Sargodha, Swabi, Bhalwal, Nowshera, Hafizabad, Karak, Mianwali, Mansehra, Bhakar, Muzaffarabad, Kohat, Mirpur (AJK), DI Khan, Bagh, Swat, Rawalakot (Pooneh ), Abbottabad, Kotli, Bannu, Sudhanoti, Hangu and Bhimber. The aim of this extension is to facilitate the general public by providing faster passport processing services in these regions. The Directorate General has directed all Zonal Heads to ensure prompt and effective implementation of these instructions. The notification also requests the Director (Database) to update the Passport Processing System (PPS) to include these cities in the Fast Track category. Issued by Deputy Director (Policy-I) Hafiz Abdul Nasir, the notification has been circulated to relevant authorities including Director General of Pakistan Post to ensure wide awareness and introduction of new Fast Track facilities.
