ISLAMABAD: Pakistan achieved a historic milestone in shooting sports as Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Farrukh Nadeem of the Pakistan Army clinched the country’s first-ever gold medal in international trap shooting. He secured the Individual Gold Medal in the Trap Olympic Event at the Asian Shotgun Shooting Championship in Qatar on January 20, 2026.
Nadeem’s performance in the final was record-breaking, as he not only topped the podium but also set a new world record and a new Asian record in the decisive round. His achievement marks a breakthrough for Pakistan on the global shooting stage and underscores the rising standard of the country’s shooters in international competitions.
