Actors Zayb Khan and Esra Ayesha have shared the story of how their relationship developed from their first meeting on ARY Digital’s reality show Tamasha Season 5 to their marriage, revealing that separation after the show helped them recognise their feelings for each other.
Speaking on ARY Digital’s morning programme Good Morning Pakistan, the couple discussed their journey from friendship and growing emotional attachment to marriage.
Zayb Khan said they had not fully understood their feelings for each other while living together in the Tamasha house. However, their time apart after leaving the show gradually made their emotions clearer.
He revealed that around 15 days after leaving the show, he learned from actor Adnan Siddiqui that Esra had been crying continuously for nearly three hours following his departure.
According to Zayb, hearing this made him realise how deeply their separation was affecting them.
The couple explained that despite spending considerable time together during the reality show, they rarely discussed their personal lives, families or future plans. Most of their conversations revolved around show tasks and daily events inside the house.
Esra recalled an incident during rehearsals a day before the finale when Zayb called out to her. She initially assumed a fan was calling him but later discovered that Zayb himself had been trying to get her attention.
Zayb said they finally got an opportunity to have a detailed conversation on the night of the finale. They met in the conference room between 4am and 5am, alongside other participants and members of the production team, and discussed matters beyond the show, including their personalities and future.
The couple said the emotional bond that developed during the reality show became stronger through their time apart and eventually led them to marriage.
Zayb also revealed that many people had been praying for their relationship to turn into marriage. He said some fans even sent messages telling them they had offered special prayers for the couple during Tahajjud.
