RIYADH: Kathellen Sousa, the Brazilian defender playing for Al Nassr FC Women, has converted to Islam, the club confirmed through a social media post.

The Al Nassr Women’s Football Team shared the development online, describing it as a special moment and expressing wishes for peace and tranquility for the player.

Sousa, who competes in the Saudi Women’s Premier League, marked the occasion during an event held at the club’s facilities alongside teammates.

Speaking about her decision, Sousa said, “I am just trying to find the right path and to be the best person I can be.”
