RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s experienced opener Fakhar Zaman has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first Pakistani batter to hit 100 sixes in men’s T20 International cricket.
The 36-year-old reached the landmark during the third and final T20I against Sri Lanka at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
Fakhar entered the match with 99 sixes and needed just one more to reach the historic mark. He achieved the feat by hitting Sri Lankan fast bowler Binura Fernando for a six over deep midwicket.
However, the batter’s celebration was short-lived, as he was dismissed for 12 runs by Ishan Malinga shortly after reaching the milestone.
Despite Fakhar’s achievement, Pakistan could not secure victory in the final match. Sri Lanka produced a strong performance, with Kusal Mendis leading the batting effort, to register an eight-wicket win.
Although Pakistan lost the final encounter, Fakhar’s achievement marked a significant moment in the country’s T20 International cricket history, making him the first Pakistani batter to reach 100 sixes in the format.
