LAHORE, October 19, 2026: Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs and Energy Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar visited Union Council 109 in Lahore’s PP-168 constituency on Monday to inspect ongoing sewerage, water supply and road development projects, directing officials to ensure their timely completion and maintain construction quality.
During his visit to Ward No. 5 and Cinema Wali Gali, the minister reviewed progress on local infrastructure projects and received a briefing from the relevant departments on completed and ongoing work.
Officials informed him that the installation of a new sewerage line and water supply infrastructure in Cinema Wali Gali had been completed, while construction of a new road was underway and expected to finish soon.
Khokhar said the projects were intended to address longstanding civic problems, improve drainage, ensure access to clean water and provide better roads for residents.
He directed the authorities concerned to maintain construction standards and complete the remaining work within the prescribed timeframe.
The minister warned that unnecessary delays in public welfare projects would not be tolerated and called for effective monitoring to ensure timely completion.
During the inspection, Khokhar also met local residents, heard their complaints and issued instructions to officials for their prompt resolution.
He said direct interaction with residents was essential to identifying local problems and ensuring that development schemes addressed the needs of communities.
Referring to the provincial government’s development priorities, Khokhar said the administration, under Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, was working to improve access to basic civic facilities and accelerate infrastructure development.
He added that further development initiatives would continue across PP-168 and adjoining areas, with particular attention to drainage, water supply, road infrastructure and other essential services.
According to the statement issued following the visit, local residents welcomed the minister and expressed appreciation for the infrastructure improvements undertaken in the area.
The inspection comes as work continues on neighbourhood-level infrastructure projects aimed at improving municipal services and addressing everyday civic difficulties faced by residents.
