Pind Dadan Khan: In line with the vision of the Chief Minister of Punjab for a Punjab free of encroachments, the district administration has become active. On the orders of Deputy Commissioner Jhelum, Meesum Abbas, an operation against illegal encroachments continued for the second day under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Pind Dadan Khan, Nadia Parveen. The operation targeted Railway Road, Khewra Road, Jhelum Road, and areas in Khewra, utilizing heavy machinery to remove encroachments. Commercial boards, sheds, and encroachments in front of shops were demolished.

In protest against the operation, a partial strike was observed in the city on the call of the Traders’ Association, and traders held a protest at Kashmir Chowk. DSP Aamir Shaheen Gondal and a large police force arrived at the scene. Later, the central Traders’ Association announced their decision to remove the encroachments themselves in compliance with the Punjab government’s orders.

The administration marked a two-foot line outside the shops. Speaking to the media, Assistant Commissioner Nadia Parveen stated that the directives of Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, for a Punjab free of encroachments are being implemented without any discrimination.
