SWAT: An elite force personnel shot dead A police man and his nephew during a jirga at his home while his wife sustained injuries in Salampur area of Swat District. “Among the victims, Sarfraz and his nephew Dr. Imran had brought lady police personnel Kharonai, the wife of accused Shaukat, to the Jirga. According to District Police Officer (DPO) Swat Badshah Hazrat Khan, the incident took place in Salampur, an area within the limits of Saidu Sharif police station. Where the police constable Shaukat son of Khan Jan opened fire on the Jirga who had come home. As a result police constable Sarfaraz son of Muhammad Zareen resident of Bazkhila Matta Tehsil died on the spot while his nephew Dr. Imran and accused wife Mst Kharonai were injured. The body and the injured were shifted to Saidu Teaching Hospital for immediate medical assistance. Dr. Imran also succumbed to his injuries. According to the police, Kharuoai, the police constable wife of the accused, separated from her husband and settled in Bazkhela Matta Tehsil. The deceased had come for the jirga along with the female personnel. On which the accused Shaukat opened fire on them.
