ISLAMABAD, Tuesday, September 22, 2026: The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has imposed fines totalling Rs1.62 million on eight airlines over delays in delivering passengers’ baggage at airports across the country, stepping up enforcement of passenger service standards.
According to the PAA, 19 cases involving delayed baggage delivery were recorded between July 1 and August 15, 2026.
Following action over the violations, eight airlines were collectively fined Rs1.62 million for failing to meet required baggage delivery and passenger service standards.
The authority said airlines operating at Pakistani airports were being directed to ensure passengers receive their baggage within the stipulated time and comply with prescribed service requirements.
The PAA said it was continuously monitoring the quality of facilities and services provided to passengers at airports nationwide.
Airlines failing to comply with service standards would continue to face regulatory action, the authority warned.
The latest enforcement action comes amid efforts to improve passenger experience and hold airlines accountable for service shortcomings at airports across Pakistan.
Baggage delays remain a major inconvenience for air travellers, particularly when passengers are forced to wait after completing immigration and other arrival procedures.
The PAA said monitoring would continue across the country to ensure airlines meet their obligations and provide passengers with the required standard of service.
