COAS holds key meeting with Egyptian foreign minister to strengthen defence ties

Rawalpindi: Egypt’s Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Ahmed Mohamed Abdelatty met Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in Rawalpindi, where the two discussed bilateral relations and regional developments.

The meeting focused on defence and security ties between Pakistan and Egypt, including military-to-military contacts and ongoing training cooperation. Both sides reviewed existing mechanisms and explored ways to enhance coordination.

The two officials also discussed wider regional security issues. They noted the need for regular high-level engagement to address emerging challenges in the region.

Egypt’s message of continued cooperation

The Egyptian foreign minister conveyed greetings from Egypt’s leadership and reiterated Cairo’s interest in expanding cooperation with Pakistan across various sectors.
