ISLAMABAD — Tuesday, September 8, 2026:
easypaisa digital bank and KTrade have partnered to enable users to open Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) investment accounts instantly through the easypaisa app, removing the need for traditional paperwork and in-person onboarding.
Under the partnership, easypaisa users can open a KTrade PSX investment account through a fully digital process in around 10 minutes, according to the companies.
The collaboration was formally announced at a ceremony in Islamabad last week attended by senior officials from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited (NCCPL), Central Depository Company (CDC), easypaisa and KTrade.
Digital onboarding sets PSX record
The companies said the partnership recorded the highest number of investment accounts opened in a single day in the history of the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
The milestone comes as regulators and financial institutions push for greater use of digital services and wider retail participation in Pakistan’s capital markets.
Jahanzeb Khan, President and CEO of easypaisa digital bank, said the partnership would extend the company’s digital financial services into investments and give users a simpler way to access Pakistan’s capital markets.
He also acknowledged the support of the SECP, NCCPL and CDC in digitising brokerage account onboarding.
KTrade CEO Mahmood Ali Shah Bukhari said greater accessibility and convenience could help bring the stock market closer to a wider section of the population and support the development of an investment culture in Pakistan.
Easypaisa expands digital financial services
Representatives of NCCPL highlighted the role of digital innovation in increasing investor participation and strengthening Pakistan’s financial ecosystem.
The CDC was also recognised for its role in supporting the infrastructure and coordination required for the digital onboarding initiative.
The partnership comes amid broader efforts to increase retail participation in Pakistan’s capital markets and expand access to digital financial services, particularly among underserved and underbanked segments.
Easypaisa, which says it has more than 60 million registered users, said the new investment offering forms part of its broader expansion beyond payments and banking services.
The company said the initiative will allow more users to access formal investment channels through a digital onboarding process.
