ISLAMABAD: easypaisa, Pakistan’s leading digital bank, on Wednesday hosted its Annual Stakeholder Dinner to mark the first anniversary of its digital banking operations and to celebrate its partners’ role in advancing digital finance across the country.
The event was attended by Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications Shaza Fatima Khawaja as chief guest, Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani, Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Dr. Musadik Masood Malik, along with easypaisa board members, senior government officials, policymakers, business leaders, media representatives, and members of the intelligentsia.
Leadership Highlights easypaisa’s Digital Banking Progress
The event was hosted by easypaisa Board Chairman Irfan Wahab Khan, Board Director and President of Ant International Douglas Feagin, and President and Chief Executive Officer Jahanzeb Khan. Speakers highlighted the progress during its first year as a digital bank and its growing role in expanding access to secure and inclusive financial services nationwide.
Partnership with Ant International and WorldFirst Announced
The occasion also marked the announcement of easypaisa’s collaboration with Ant International through WorldFirst, a global cross-border payments platform. Addressing the gathering, Jahanzeb Khan said the partnership would enable easypaisa customers to receive remittances and cross-border payments from over 100 countries directly into their easypaisa accounts.
He said WorldFirst supports payments in more than 100 currencies across over 210 countries and regions, positioning the digital bank as one of the most globally connected digital banks in Pakistan. The partnership is expected to expand remittance access beyond traditional corridors such as the GCC, the UK, and the US, particularly benefiting freelancers, exporters, and overseas Pakistani workers.
IT Minister Underscores Government’s Digital Economy Vision
Federal Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja congratulated easypaisa on completing its first year of digital banking operations, stating that promotion of the digital economy remains a top government priority. She said concrete steps are being taken to accelerate digitization in line with modern economic requirements, noting that the recent increase in IT exports reflects growing confidence in Pakistan’s digital potential.
Finance Ministry Highlights Cashless Economy Benefits
Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani commended easypaisa’s role in promoting digital payments and financial inclusion. He emphasized the importance of practitioner input in policymaking and highlighted government priorities such as merchant digitization, integration of digital payments with public services, and expansion of electronic transactions across sectors through supportive regulatory frameworks.

Board Chairman Irfan Wahab Khan acknowledged the role of regulators, government policies, and strategic partners, including Ant International. He said the first anniversary of easypaisa Digital Bank’s commercial operations marked a significant milestone not only for the company but for Pakistan’s broader financial ecosystem, reflecting progress toward innovation, inclusion, and digital transformation.

Douglas Feagin, President of Ant International and Senior Vice President of Ant Group, reaffirmed the company’s long-term commitment to Pakistan, stating that the partnership with easypaisa aims to leverage technology to build a more inclusive and resilient financial future for the country.
easypaisa Sets New Benchmarks in Digital Finance
With a customer base representing one in every five Pakistanis, a 31 percent female user base, and more than 3.8 billion transactions processed in 2025 valued at over PKR 15 trillion—approximately 11 percent of Pakistan’s GDP—easypaisa continues to set new benchmarks in digital banking and financial empowerment.
