Rawalpindi: Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi has taken a major step toward digital governance with the launch of an E-File Management System during a special ceremony held on campus.
The system was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Qamar-uz-Zaman, who was the chief guest at the event. Addressing the ceremony, the vice chancellor said the introduction of the E-File Management System reflects the university’s long-term vision for institutional modernization and digital transformation.

He noted that leading universities around the world are adopting paperless governance models to improve efficiency, transparency, inclusivity, and environmental sustainability. He added that the initiative places Arid Agriculture University on a progressive path aligned with international best practices in higher education administration.
The vice chancellor emphasized that the E-File Management System is not merely a technological upgrade but a strategic reform aimed at strengthening governance structures, accelerating decision-making processes, and improving service delivery for faculty, staff, and students. He further stated that such digital initiatives are essential for universities seeking to remain competitive in the global academic landscape while contributing to environmental sustainability through reduced paper usage.
Speaking on the occasion, Nadeem A. Malik, Director IT Services, said the Directorate of IT Services is continuously working to transform the university into a smart campus through the adoption of modern digital solutions.
He added that the E-File initiative, launched under the vision of the vice chancellor, will help improve employee performance, save time and manpower, and generate significant cost savings for the university. According to him, the system will enhance transparency, reduce paperwork, and strengthen institutional efficiency, laying the foundation for a technology-driven and sustainable administrative environment at Arid Agriculture University.
University officials expressed confidence that the E-File Management System will play a key role in promoting smart governance and improving administrative workflows across the campus.
