Lifeline of Pakistan, Journalists Reaffirm Commitment to Kashmiri Cause

MIRPUR, AZAD KASHMIR: Dr. Saadia Kamal, the central president of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (Workers), reaffirmed that Kashmir is the lifeline of Pakistan and emphasized the nation’s resolve to protect it. She highlighted Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s struggle for their internationally recognized right to self-determination as per UN resolutions.
Speaking at a reception held at the Kashmir Press Club Mirpur, Dr. Kamal, along with a 28-member delegation of journalists, commended Pakistani journalists for their intellectual support of the Kashmiri cause. She acknowledged the vital role of the Mirpur press in safeguarding national interests and stressed the need for unity among journalists to address modern challenges.
Dr. Sadia Kamal expressed her pleasure in visiting the Kashmir Press Club Mirpur and assured her full support to its leadership. She extended congratulations to the club’s office bearers, including President Syed Abid Hussain Shah, General Secretary Raja Sohrab Khan, and others, for their dedication and efforts.
The reception also featured speeches by prominent figures, such as Syed Abid Hussain Shah, Hafiz Maqsood, Altaf Hamid Rao, and senior journalists from Islamabad, including Kokab Sultana and Mazhar Iqbal.
Highlighting the significance of journalism as a cornerstone of society, Dr. Sadia Kamal emphasized collective efforts to uplift the profession and reiterated her commitment to advocating for journalists’ rights and supporting the Kashmiri cause.
The event underscored the solidarity of the Pakistani nation and its media with the Kashmiri people in their pursuit of freedom and justice.
