Chakswari – A grand joining ceremony was held at the residence of senior Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Khawaja Muhammad Shafiq and his brothers in Faizpur Sharif. The event was graced by the Minister for Mangla Dam Affairs and Mangla Dam Housing Authority, Chaudhry Qasim Majeed, as the chief guest, while veteran leader Haji Najeeb chaired the proceedings.

Several notable figures addressed the gathering, including District Councillor Chaudhry Khushnood Ali, Chairman Municipal Committee Chakswari Chaudhry Naeem Rupyal, Vice Chairman Haji Tasib, senior leader Chaudhry Basharat Advocate, former candidate Chaudhry Rehman Advocate, Union Council Chairman Faizpur Sharif Chaudhry Munir, Councillors Chaudhry Waqar, Khawaja Ehtesham, Chaudhry Abdul Qayyum, and Sardar Basharat.
The highlight of the event was the joining of dozens of individuals from various political parties into the PPP, pledging their allegiance to Minister Qasim Majeed’s leadership. The minister warmly welcomed the new members and praised their commitment to the party’s vision.
Addressing the crowd, Minister Qasim Majeed emphasized his dedication to resolving all local issues of Union Council Faizpur Sharif, stating that election promises are being fulfilled gradually. He said serving the people of his constituency is a duty he takes seriously and urged unity among residents during these turbulent times.
He warned that India is attempting to create chaos and uncertainty in Azad Kashmir to distract people from the Kashmir freedom movement and the mission of Pakistan’s completion. “Our forefathers sacrificed countless lives for this land’s freedom; its protection is a fundamental responsibility for every citizen,” he said.
Highlighting the achievements of the current government under Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq, the minister noted that significant steps have been taken for public welfare, and the journey of development is actively ongoing.
The host, Khawaja Muhammad Shafiq, concluded the event by expressing gratitude to the minister and pledged continued support, vowing to ensure a two-thirds majority victory in the next election.
