According to a statement issued by the Deputy Commissioner’s office, organizing processions without prior permission has been prohibited in order to prevent any kind of unrest, sectarian hatred, and illegal activities during Muharram.
Movement of foreign nationals/Afghan refugees around religious gatherings and processions has also been restricted.
As per the order, all citizens are banned from swimming or bathing in rivers, streams, lakes, and other water bodies.
Additionally, riding motorcycles without silencers, using firecrackers, or any kind of explosive materials has been strictly prohibited.
This order will remain in effect from the 1st to the 10th of Muharram
