Deputy Commissioner Yasir Riaz has instructed the revenue department officers, staff, and field personnel to address all land-related matters in strict accordance with the law and established procedures, as per the directives of the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir. Camps will be set up in various areas to facilitate land transfers, and fees for copies of land records will be charged strictly according to the official schedule. Fee charts must be prominently displayed, and damaged or missing charts should be replaced immediately. Strict action will be taken against those charging more than the prescribed fees.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized verifying the presence of owners of old underground leases and ensuring that their lease payments are timely deposited into the government treasury. Officers and field staff were urged to expedite the process of computerizing land records in their respective areas.
He further stated that strict measures will be taken against bribery, corruption, and unauthorized manipulation of land records.
These remarks were made while presiding over a meeting of revenue officers in Mirpur district. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner General Raja Umar Tariq, Assistant Commissioner Mirpur Raja Zahid Hussain, Assistant Commissioner Dadyal Syed Yasir Ali Bukhari, Revenue Officer Syed Kaleem Abbas Shah, Tehsildar Imran Yousaf, Tehsildar Islamgarh Humam Shafique Kayani, Tehsildar IT Raja Zahid Hussain, Naib Tehsildar Raja Ejaz Ahmed, and Naib Tehsildar Islamgarh Chaudhry Altaf Hussain.
During the meeting, the revenue officers presented progress reports for their respective areas. Deputy Commissioner Yasir Riaz directed them to implement the instructions and orders of the Azad Kashmir government promptly and to keep him informed of progress. He stressed that patwaris should not unnecessarily delay land identification and compliance matters. Pending cases and land disputes must be resolved within the stipulated time in accordance with the law.
He also instructed the officers to ensure that applicants visiting the offices are treated with respect and their legitimate issues are resolved without unnecessary hurdles. Repeated visits by citizens to the offices should be avoided, and their dignity must be upheld at all times.
