Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir has ordered an FIR against the officials concerned after dengue larvae were found at a railway workshop in Lahore.
The minister expressed serious concern over the discovery during a surprise inspection of various areas of Lahore alongside dengue surveillance teams.
Khawaja Imran Nazir led inspections and raids at a railway warehouse and workshop, where dengue larvae were detected.
He said efforts to prevent dengue were a collective responsibility and that negligence would not be tolerated.
“If an FIR can be registered against a trader or an ordinary citizen, government officials are not above the law,” the minister said.
The provincial health minister directed dengue surveillance teams to intensify their activities and remain fully active in high-risk areas.
He stressed that all available resources must be utilized to protect citizens from dengue and warned that negligence or dereliction of duty in anti-dengue operations would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
