As per the directives of the Labour Court Haripur, elections for the Haripur Press Club 2025 were held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. The Democratic Group emerged victorious in the elections, which were conducted under the supervision of Election Tribunal Chairman and Regional Information Officer Ikramullah Saeed, along with tribunal members, President of the District Bar Association Haripur Asad Saeed Khan, and former Vice President of the District Bar Association Haripur Saifullah Khan Qureshi.
Out of a total of 66 registered voters, 40 votes were cast. The Democratic Group’s presidential candidate, Zakir Hussain Tanoli, secured 37 votes, while his opponent, Shahid Akhtar Awan of the Working Journalists Group, managed to secure only 2 votes, with one vote rejected.
For the position of General Secretary, Javed Khan of the Democratic Group won with 38 votes, whereas his opponent, Malik Shahid Tabassum of the Working Journalists Group, secured 1 vote, with one vote rejected.
For the position of Senior Vice President, Arshad Mehmood Bobi of the Democratic Group secured 36 votes, while his opponent, Syed Khadim Hussain Shah of the Working Journalists Group, obtained 2 votes, with two votes rejected.
For the Vice President-I position, Malik Jamil Khan of the Democratic Group won with 36 votes, while Kiran Shahzadi of the Working Journalists Group secured 3 votes, with one vote rejected.
For the Vice President-II position, Qazi Muhammad Nisar Ahmed Khan of the Democratic Group secured 35 votes, while his opponent, Adeel Ahmed of the Working Journalists Group, obtained 2 votes, with three votes rejected.
For the position of Joint Secretary, Mehmood Akhtar of the Democratic Group secured 36 votes, while his opponent, Muhammad Fayaz Khan of the Working Journalists Group, received 3 votes, with one vote rejected.
For the position of Information Secretary, Muhammad Shehzad Tanoli of the Democratic Group secured 36 votes, while Muhammad Tahir Habib Awan of the Working Journalists Group obtained 3 votes, with one vote rejected.
For the Finance Secretary position, Muhammad Ishaq Rajput was elected unopposed. Similarly, for the Office Secretary position, Muhammad Ishaq was also elected unopposed.
All elected candidates belong to the Democratic Group, marking a clean sweep victory in the Haripur Press Club Elections 2025.
