The annual Dastarbandi (graduation) ceremony was held at the Timergara Rest House, during which 41 students successfully completed the Dars-e-Nizami course and memorization of the Holy Quran and were awarded their turbans. The event was attended by prominent scholars, local elders, and leaders, including the district head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Siraj-ud-Din, former finance minister Muzaffar Syed Advocate, and other dignitaries.
Addressing the ceremony, Hazrat Maulana Mufti Ghulam-ur-Rehman (Ustad-ul-Ulama and Director of Jamia Usmania Peshawar), the institution’s administrator Maulana Waheed-ud-Din, and other speakers highlighted the importance of religious seminaries. They stated that these institutions are the strongholds of Islam and play a vital role in safeguarding the nation’s ideological and geographical borders.
The speakers emphasized that religious seminaries, operating through self-reliance, are providing free education in Islamic sciences to millions of students annually. They acknowledged the remarkable contribution of producing scholars every year, a responsibility that ideally should have been fulfilled by the government, which has unfortunately neglected this duty.
They further warned that any negative propaganda against religious seminaries or harassment of scholars would not be tolerated and would lead to the downfall of those responsible.Urging the youth, the speakers advised them to refrain from wasting time on social media and instead dedicate themselves to learning the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah to secure both their worldly and eternal success. They expressed concern over rising disobedience toward parents, immorality, indecency, interest-based dealings, and other societal evils, attributing these issues to the increasing distance from religion.
