Islamabad, April 1, 2026 — Parliamentary Secretary for Information Daniyal Chaudhry attended a cricket event at Shalimar Cricket Ground as chief guest, where he highlighted the importance of sports in promoting positive social values and youth engagement.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, Chaudhry congratulated the winning team and extended his best wishes to the newly elected governing body of the organizing club. He also announced plans to hold a formal meeting with the new administration in the near future.
He emphasised that strengthening sports activities is essential for building a healthy society, noting that active playgrounds contribute to reducing social challenges. He added that in the current national context, promoting constructive and positive activities has become increasingly important.
Chaudhry said sports can play a key role in engaging young people and fostering discipline, teamwork and positive behaviour. He noted that encouraging such activities can help channel the energy of youth in a productive direction.
Media role also highlighted
The parliamentary secretary also acknowledged the role of media in shaping public perception, saying journalists contribute significantly by informing the public despite personal and professional challenges.
He praised media professionals for their dedication, stating that they present both positive and critical aspects of society to the world. He added that responsible journalism plays an important role in strengthening democratic and social values.
