Islamabad — The Dakhni Front End Compression Project for Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has been completed, strengthening production infrastructure at one of Pakistan’s key natural gas fields, project partners said.
The project was executed by Hong Kong HuiHua Global Corporation Ltd (HHGTL), a wholly owned subsidiary of China Oil HBP Science and Technology Ltd, in collaboration with MHAA Corporation and in joint venture with Etimaad Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd. ILF Consulting Engineers served as the engineering consultant.
Officials said the EPCC project was delivered within the agreed timeframe and in line with OGDCL’s technical and contractual requirements. The installation is intended to address natural production decline while improving the reliability and sustainability of gas output from the Dakhni field.
The newly installed compression facilities are designed to optimise reservoir performance of up to 28 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD). According to project details, the system is expected to enhance gas recovery efficiency, strengthen field deliverability, and support long-term production stability.
Project partners said the work involved integrated engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities, carried out in compliance with international health, safety, and environmental standards.
In addition to the Dakhni project, HHGTL/HBP–MHAA, in joint venture with AJCL, is currently executing the OGDCL ENAR Compression Project, building on experience gained from the recently completed work. HHGTL has also previously delivered a 98 MMSCFD LPG processing plant at the Nashpa Field in 2018, a project cited by industry officials as a benchmark for large-scale gas processing facilities.
The collaboration between OGDCL, ILF, and the HHGTL/HBP–MHAA–Etimaad joint venture reflects ongoing efforts to maximise indigenous hydrocarbon resources and strengthen Pakistan’s energy security through upgrades to existing upstream infrastructure.
