ISLAMABAD, August 11, 2026: Daikin has begun local assembly of residential air conditioners in Pakistan through MIA Industries Pvt. Ltd., marking a new step in the localisation of the country’s air-conditioning industry.

The units will be assembled on a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) basis, with MIA Industries serving as the assembly arm of MIA Group of Companies.

According to the companies, MIA is the first Daikin distributor globally to be entrusted with assembling the brand’s residential air conditioners, a development announced at the Daikin ReConnect 2026 event in Islamabad.

Local Assembly Aims to Improve Availability and Support

The initiative is expected to improve product availability, reduce turnaround times and strengthen after-sales support for customers in Pakistan while maintaining Daikin’s international quality standards.

The launch brought together Daikin executives, MIA’s dealer network, business partners and representatives from the heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration sector.

The event was attended by Toshiharu Tsurumaru, Chief Operating Officer of Daikin Malaysia, while Yousaf Hassan, President of the HVACR Society of Pakistan, participated as chief guest.

Malaysia’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Dato’ Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, also attended as guest of honour.

Daikin Starts Local AC Assembly in Pakistan Through MIA Industries — Mr. Toshiharu Tsurumaru, Chief Operating Officer, Daikin Malaysia, and Muhammad Ashraf Arrain, Chairman, MIA Group of Companies, jointly inaugurated the world’s first Daikin CKD residential air-conditioning assembly plant in Islamabad.

MIA Calls Initiative a Major Responsibility

MIA Group Chairman Muhammad Ashraf Arrain said being selected by Daikin for local assembly was both an honour and a responsibility.

He said the initiative represented a new phase in the long-standing relationship between Daikin and MIA, built around product quality and market development.

Tsurumaru said bringing assembly closer to the Pakistani market would help improve product availability, speed up delivery and strengthen service support.

The move comes as air-conditioning brands increasingly look toward local assembly and supply-chain localisation to improve market responsiveness and support domestic manufacturing.

Daikin and MIA said the CKD initiative is intended to strengthen their presence in Pakistan and expand access to locally assembled residential air-conditioning products.
