Quetta: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Quetta has seized smuggled goods valued at Rs 368 million in two intelligence-based operations carried out in coordination with the Balochistan Police and the Frontier Corps (North) Balochistan, officials said on Monday.
Details of seized consignments
According to officials, the recovered items included foreign-origin cigarette brands such as Benson & Hedges, Marlboro, and 555, along with Indian gutkha, tyres, betel nuts, and cigarette papers. The total estimated value of the seized goods was assessed at Rs 368 million.
Operations by customs enforcement based on intelligence
Authorities said the operations were conducted on the basis of specific intelligence and resulted in the interception of the consignments at different locations in and around Quetta.
Officials said the operations involved coordination between Customs Enforcement, the Balochistan Police, and Frontier Corps personnel to secure the recoveries and move the seized goods into custody.
The seized consignments have been taken into official custody, and legal proceedings are being initiated under the relevant laws, according to Customs officials.
