CTD Arrests Two Suspected RAW-Linked Militants in Sahiwal, Says Planned Attacks Were Foiled

Punjab’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) says it has arrested two suspected militants allegedly linked to India’s intelligence agency RAW during an operation in Sahiwal, claiming the suspects were planning attacks in Sahiwal and Okara.

According to CTD officials, the arrests were made following intelligence-based information. Authorities say explosives, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and weapons were recovered during the operation. The claims have not been independently verified.

CTD Details Operation

In a statement, the CTD said the two suspects, identified as Abdul Aziz and Wilayat Shah, are residents of Peshawar.

Officials said the suspects were allegedly affiliated with India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), an allegation that has not been independently confirmed.

Explosives and Weapons Recovered

According to the CTD, authorities recovered 4 kilograms of explosive material, three improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and three Kalashnikov rifles from the suspects. Officials also said cash and other materials allegedly linked to the planned attacks were seized.

The CTD stated that the suspects were allegedly planning terrorist activities in Sahiwal and Okara.

Investigation Underway

Authorities have launched further investigations to determine the scope of the alleged plot and whether others were involved.
