RIYADH — Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 500th career goal during Al-Nassr’s 4-0 win over Al-Hazem Football Club in the Saudi Professional League, marking a major milestone in his career.

The Portuguese forward, who captains Al-Nassr Football Club, reached the landmark across club and international competitions. The achievement came as Al-Nassr secured a comprehensive league victory, moving to the top of the points table following the result.

Cultural celebration in Riyadh

After the match, Ronaldo celebrated by wearing the traditional Saudi “Bisht,” a garment associated with leadership and formal national occasions. The appearance coincided with Saudi National Day celebrations, drawing widespread attention across regional and international media.

Images of Ronaldo in the Bisht circulated widely on social media, generating millions of views shortly after the match.

The Bisht holds historical significance in Saudi Arabia and is traditionally worn during ceremonial events. Ronaldo had previously worn traditional Saudi attire at public events, including the Saudi Cup, reflecting his engagement with local culture since joining the Saudi league.

A career defined by longevity

Ronaldo’s 500-goal milestone reflects a career spanning more than two decades. By the age of 30, he had already scored over 460 goals, continuing to add to his tally in subsequent years through club and international appearances.

Before joining Al-Nassr in 2023, Ronaldo played for major European clubs including Real Madrid CF, Manchester United F.C., and Juventus F.C., as well as the Portugal national football team.

Since his arrival in Saudi Arabia, he has contributed significantly to Al-Nassr’s performances while also drawing global attention to the Saudi Professional League.
