A three-member team from the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP), comprising Dr. Faisal and Dr. Yahya and led by Professor Dr. Naeem Zia, visited the Teaching Hospital Timergara on Saturday. The purpose of the visit was to evaluate the hospital’s surgery department for approval as an FCPS (Fellowship of College of Physicians and Surgeons) training facility for specialization.
During the visit, the team inspected various units of the surgery department, including the ICU, at the hospital. They were briefed by the Principal of Timergara Medical College, Professor Surgeon Dr. Samiullah, Chief Surgical Specialist Dr. Bakht Sarwar, MS Dr. Asghar Ali, Dr. Najeeb, Dr. Liaqat, and Dr. Waqar Alam.Speaking to the media, CPSP team leader Dr. Naeem Zia expressed satisfaction with the visit, particularly with the surgical units and ICU. He termed the visit as highly beneficial and expressed hope that the department would soon be approved for FCPS training. Dr. Naeem Zia further remarked that this approval would bring about a revolution in the medical field in Lower Dir, enabling the local population to receive advanced medical facilities at their doorstep and allowing doctors to pursue FCPS training locally.On the occasion, the Principal of Timergara Medical College, Dr. Samiullah, described the CPSP delegation’s visit as a milestone for the activation of the medical college. He expressed optimism that the public would soon hear good news regarding the matter.
