Islamabad, June 17, 2026: COMSATS University Islamabad welcomed a high-level delegation of 16 professors and senior academics from leading public and private universities of Bangladesh at its Islamabad campus under the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor.
The visit was supported by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and aimed at strengthening academic cooperation, research collaboration, digital transformation and people-to-people ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
The delegation included the Vice Chancellor and CEO of the Asian University of Bangladesh, the Pro Vice Chancellor Academic of Jahangirnagar University, along with deans, senior professors and academic administrators from the University of Dhaka, University of Chittagong, North South University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, University of Rajshahi, BRAC University and Southeast University Bangladesh.
COMSATS University Islamabad Rector Prof Dr Raheel Qamar received the delegation along with senior university officials and heads of different departments. Ms Muneeba Nasir, Head of the International Office, gave a detailed briefing on the university and informed the delegation about its digital governance systems and major academic initiatives.
Prof Dr Raheel Qamar briefed the participants on COMSATS University’s AI-based adaptive learning management systems, paperless administration, green campus initiatives and sustainability measures.
He also highlighted progress in biomedical research, technology commercialization and efforts to make health technologies more accessible for local communities in both countries. He offered COMSATS’ expertise in AI and ICT to help improve learning management systems at Bangladeshi universities.
During the visit, both sides discussed expanding cooperation in joint research, innovation, entrepreneurship and digital transformation. The interaction reflected a shared commitment to exploring new opportunities for higher education cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
The delegation was also given a tour of the Junaid Zaidi Central Library and other academic facilities at the Islamabad campus.
