Mirpur, Azad Kashmir: Under the leadership of Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq, the government has initiated the completion of the Rathua Hariyam Bridge, a significant and transformative project for the region’s development. The move has sparked joy among the public, especially overseas Kashmiris. Construction work, which had been stalled for decades, has gained momentum.

The renowned national construction firm, FWO, has started deploying state-of-the-art automatic heavy machinery at the site. The German-made machinery, recognized for its exceptional capabilities in drilling in swampy and muddy terrains, will be used to dig and solidify the foundations of the bridge’s pillars. This advanced machinery will allow simultaneous digging and reinforcement of the deep foundations in areas covered with water and sludge.

Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq is personally monitoring the progress to ensure timely completion of the bridge. A dedicated monitoring system has been established at the Prime Minister’s Office for this purpose. The Prime Minister has instructed that the opportunity created by the low water levels in Mangla Lake during the winter be fully utilized to complete construction on the challenging portions of the bridge before the snowmelt increases water levels. This would prevent potential delays caused by rising water levels.

Resident engineers of the construction firm are optimistic that, with the full cooperation of the Azad Kashmir government, skilled manpower, and the use of modern machinery, the bridge’s pillars will rise above the water before the upcoming summer. They are confident that the remaining construction work will also be completed within the stipulated time.

The completion of this landmark project will not only provide the people of Mirpur Division with efficient and shorter travel routes but also promote international tourism through the longest bridge over Mangla Lake. This, in turn, is expected to boost economic and social development in Mirpur, creating further opportunities for prosperity in the region.

Overseas Kashmiris and various public rights organizations have lauded Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq’s vision and leadership for this monumental achievement. They congratulated him on this initiative and expressed hope that he would continue to accelerate efforts to transform Azad Kashmir into an exemplary state.
