MARDAN: Commissioner Mardan Division Nisar Ahmed On Tuesday has directed PESCO and SNGPL officials to take all necessary steps to improve the supply of electricity and gas to the people in Mardan and Swabi.While the theft of electricity and Sui gas and the consumers will cooperate fully with both the administration and the police agencies to recover the arrears.He said that during the holy month of Ramadan, the supply of electricity and gas to consumers should be ensured during the morning and afternoon.He was addressing a high level meeting held in Mardan Division to solve the problems related to electricity and gas in his office.
National Assembly Member Mujahid Khan, Member Provincial Assembly Abdul Salam Afridi, Deputy Commissioner Mardan Dr. Azmatullah Wazir, Chief Engineer Operation Pesco Gul Nabi Syed, Regional Manager SNGPL Aakif Noor,ADC Mardan Saeedullah Jan,ADC Swabi Shahzeb Khan, and other relevant PESCO and Sui gas officials attended.PESCO’s chief operation briefed the meeting, saying that in Mardan, there are more than four lakh of PESCO’s categories and more than 3 lakhs Twenty Thousands users in Swabi.
He elaborated on arrears, line losses and load shedding in Mardan and Swabi. On the occasion, MNA Mujahid Khan and MPA Abdul Salam Afridi assured PESCO officials of full support in the action against power theft, but said that the process of power thieves should not be punished by consumers who submit a bill.
