During interactions with local notables and veterans, the COAS said continued human rights violations and alleged atrocities in IIOJK had failed to suppress the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s longstanding position that a just and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute is essential and must be achieved in accordance with relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.

The army chief said Pakistan would continue to raise the Kashmir issue at all appropriate international forums and remain in solidarity with the Kashmiri people until a resolution is reached in line with their will.

He also reviewed the operational preparedness of troops deployed in the region and commended their morale, professionalism and readiness despite challenging conditions. Emphasising vigilance and coordination, he said maintaining a high level of operational preparedness remains critical to effectively deter and respond to any hostile action.

Later, the COAS visited a forward post along the Line of Control, where he interacted with frontline troops. He said any act of aggression would be met with a swift and appropriate response, adding that the armed forces remain fully prepared to counter both conventional and hybrid threats in a changing security environment.

Upon arrival in Muzaffarabad, the army chief was received by the Rawalpindi Corps commander, the statement added.
