Islamabad: Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Naveed Ashraf has called on senior civilian and military leaders during his official visit to Bahrain.
The Chief of the Navy held a meeting with Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
In these meetings, issues of strengthening defense cooperation and strengthening historic ties between Bahrain and Pakistan were discussed. The King appreciated Pakistan Navy’s role and commitment to maritime security and stability in the region.
The Chief of the Navy then met with the Commander of the Bahrain Defense Force (BDF), Field Marshal Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, and the Commander of the Bahrain National Guard, General Sheikh Mohammed bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa. . and Commander of the Royal Bahrain Navy (RBNF), Rear Admiral Ahmed Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Binali.
Professional issues of mutual interest such as regional maritime security and bilateral defense cooperation were discussed during these talks. The Navy chief stressed the importance of developing relations between the armed forces of the two countries through joint exercises, visits and training exchange programs.
In his speech at the Royal Command and Staff College, the Chief of the Navy explained the current and emerging situation in the Indian Ocean region and emphasized the need for maritime security building in the region.
The visit of the Chief of Naval Staff is expected to further strengthen and expand the defense ties between the two brotherly nations.
