ATTOCK: The Counter Narcotics Force (CNF) carried out a major operation on the motorway near the Burhan Interchange, recovering a large quantity of narcotics concealed inside an oil tanker, official sources said on Sunday.
According to officials, the tanker was intercepted during routine checking while travelling from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A detailed search of the vehicle led to the discovery of specially constructed hidden compartments containing approximately 700 kilograms of hashish and 200 kilograms of opium.

The driver of the tanker, identified as Sohail Ahmed, was arrested at the scene, while the recovered narcotics were taken into custody for further legal proceedings.
Officials said preliminary investigations suggest that the seized drugs were part of an inter-provincial narcotics trafficking network. Further interrogation of the arrested suspect is underway to identify other facilitators and determine the intended destinations of the contraband.
CNF officials described the recovery as one of the major drug seizures in the region and reiterated the force’s commitment to intensifying crackdowns against drug smuggling along major highways and transport routes across the country.
