During the meeting, CM Afridi praised the provincial bureaucracy and police for safeguarding the public mandate during the February 8, 2024 elections despite external pressures. He, however, criticized those officials who failed to withstand pressure, directing the Chief Secretary to identify and take strict action against them.

“We will reward those who stood with the people and take action against those who compromised their duty,” said CM Afridi.

“PTI’s zero-tolerance policy against corruption remains intact. No one, regardless of position, will be spared if found involved in corruption.”

Afridi emphasized that public servants are accountable to the people and that traditional bureaucratic approaches must be replaced with results-oriented performance.

In a series of major development announcements, CM Afridi declared the establishment of a Tribal Medical College and the Tribal University of Modern Sciences, with campuses across all merged districts. He also announced the creation of Safe City Projects in tribal areas and the University of Investigative and Modern Journalism, named after the late Arshad Sharif. Additionally, he unveiled the Peshawar Revival Plan for urban development and announced the construction of playgrounds at the tehsil level in merged districts.

The Chief Minister also ordered alignment of the EPAD system with the provincial e-tendering system, and directed the introduction of a conceptual examination system to replace rote learning. He instructed strict implementation of the two-year posting and transfer policy and an end to recommendation-based transfers.

On law and order, Afridi declared that no political figure would be arrested under 3MPO, nor would any political FIRs be registered. He reaffirmed the government’s respect for freedom of expression and the right to constructive criticism.

Afridi paid tribute to KP Police for their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and vowed to strengthen the force with modern equipment and weapons. He condemned the federal government for withholding War on Terror funds, stating,

Because of flawed federal policies, terrorism has re-emerged in the province. We can fight it only if our rightful funds are released.”

The Chief Minister warned that no student or citizen should face politically motivated FIRs, and that no torture in jails would be tolerated. He also proposed exclusive housing enclaves for police and journalists in provincial housing schemes.

Criticizing the federal interior ministry, Afridi said the bulletproof vehicles provided to KP Police were “substandard and outdated,” terming it an insult to the force and ordering their return.

CM Afridi concluded by directing that the security withdrawn from former chief ministers be restored “to ensure their safety and dignity.
