LAHORE- Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Sunday met Japanese Ambassador Wada Mitsuhiro and discussed strengthening trade, business and investment ties between the two countries.
In the meeting, Maryam Nawaz emphasized the importance of educational and cultural exchange between the delegation of Pakistan and Japan, aiming to develop faculty programs for students.
He said, mutual cooperation in trade, business and investment will bring significant benefits for Pakistan and Japan.
Highlighting the huge investment potential for Japanese companies in Punjab, the Chief Minister said that “Punjab is emerging as an important consumer market”.
In response, the Japanese ambassador said that people-to-people exchanges are inevitable to strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and Japan.
The Ambassador said that eleven Pakistani students are pursuing master’s and doctoral degrees in Japan under the MEXT scholarship scheme.
He highlighted several Japanese projects aimed at social welfare and development that are currently active in Pakistan.
