Chinese Delegation Eyes Investment, Joint Ventures in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: A high-level Chinese business delegation has explored investment, joint venture and industrial cooperation opportunities in Pakistan, with a focus on manufacturing, infrastructure, construction, renewable energy, advanced materials and export-oriented production.

The delegation was led by Liu Ying, President of the Dongguan Ganzhou Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of Dongguan Chuanbo Metal Products Co., during a business interaction hosted by the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI).

The visit was aimed at identifying practical opportunities for long-term business partnerships between Chinese and Pakistani companies.

Chinese Firms Explore Pakistan Market

During the session, a presentation on Dongguan Chuanbo Metal Products Co. highlighted the company’s products, manufacturing capacity and potential areas for cooperation with Pakistani businesses.

Liu Ying said the delegation had come to Pakistan with strong interest in investment, manufacturing partnerships and technology-based cooperation.

He stressed the need to strengthen private-sector ties between the two countries and expressed hope that the visit would lead to concrete agreements in investment, joint ventures and industrial collaboration.

The delegation included companies operating in metal and plastic products, construction, new energy, advanced materials, flooring solutions, packaging, international trade and investment.

Several visiting firms also showed interest in using partnerships with Pakistani companies to expand their regional presence.

ICCI Invites Chinese Companies to Invest and Manufacture

Welcoming the delegation, ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood said Pakistan-China relations should increasingly move beyond traditional trade towards investment, manufacturing, technology transfer and joint value creation.

He said Pakistan offers a large consumer market, a young population, entrepreneurial talent, strategic connectivity and investment opportunities in infrastructure, energy, manufacturing and technology.

Mehmood invited Chinese companies to establish manufacturing units, form joint ventures and develop supply chains in Pakistan.

He particularly highlighted opportunities in renewable energy, construction, engineering, advanced materials, packaging and industrial manufacturing, saying Chinese investment and expertise could support industrial growth, employment generation and exports.

Pakistan Pitched as Regional Production Base

The ICCI president said Chinese companies could use Pakistan as a platform to reach regional markets, while Pakistani businesses could benefit from Chinese technology, capital, manufacturing expertise and global market networks.

He said ICCI was ready to facilitate business-to-business meetings, investment matchmaking, joint ventures, technology partnerships and market access for Chinese investors.

“Let us not merely trade with each other; let us build with each other, invest with each other, innovate with each other and grow together,” he said.

ICCI Pledges Continued Business Facilitation

In his vote of thanks, ICCI Vice President Irfan Chaudhry said the Chamber would continue to act as a bridge between the business communities of Pakistan and China.

The meeting was also attended by ICCI Executive Members Waseem Chaudhry, Zulqurnain Abbasi, Mirza Mohammad Ali, Imran Minhas, Najeeb Ellahi Malik, Malik Mohsin Khalid, senior member Yasir Javaid, and other business representatives.

The visit reflects growing interest in expanding Pakistan-China economic engagement through private-sector investment, industrial partnerships and deeper integration of supply chains.
