The decision is part of the China-Pakistan Action Plan (2025–2029), recently signed in Beijing. The plan identifies civil aviation as a key area of cooperation under the broader framework of people-to-people exchanges. By promoting airline connectivity, both countries aim to deepen cultural, educational, and professional interactions.

According to the plan brief available with Wealth Pakistan, the two sides will actively support airlines to establish new flight routes and increase frequencies of current ones. The initiative complements ongoing work on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and regional integration efforts. Enhanced air connectivity will not only boost trade but also promote tourism, student exchanges, and professional collaboration across multiple sectors.

Officials from both countries emphasized that expanding direct flights will strengthen people-to-people links, reduce travel time, and create greater opportunities for bilateral engagement at all levels. They also highlighted that civil aviation cooperation ties directly with other areas of the action plan, such as cultural exchanges, education collaboration, tourism development, and trade facilitation.

The new plan will further support airlines and aviation infrastructure, fostering long-term benefits for both nations. By expanding China-Pakistan flights, the initiative is expected to reinforce economic, social, and cultural partnerships. Authorities believe this enhanced connectivity will pave the way for future collaborations and strengthen the bilateral relationship between Pakistan and China.
