Islamabad — China and Pakistan on Wednesday highlighted people-to-people ties as senior officials from both countries jointly attended an award ceremony for the China-Pakistan 75th Anniversary Commemorative Badge Design Competition in Islamabad. The event marked preparations for celebrations of 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two longstanding partners.

The ceremony was addressed by Jiang Zaidong, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, and Amna Baloch, Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary, underscoring the role of public engagement—particularly youth participation—in strengthening bilateral relations. The China-Pakistan 75th anniversary events are expected to include a series of cultural and diplomatic activities throughout the year.

Ambassador Jiang congratulated the organizers and winners of the competition, noting that the three award recipients, drawn from different regions and professional backgrounds, reflected broad public support for China-Pakistan friendship. He said strong participation from citizens of both countries remains a key driver of bilateral cooperation and reaffirmed China’s commitment to advancing people-centered diplomacy in partnership with Pakistan.

Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch thanked China for its continued support and said the competition attracted more than 2,000 submissions, primarily from young participants. She described the response as evidence of the deep-rooted foundation of Pakistan-China relations and said Pakistan aims to use the anniversary to organize commemorative activities that carry the friendship forward to future generations.
