ChatGPT is ready to become your preferred digital assistant alternative. OpenAI has introduced a new feature called ‘Tasks’ in the ChatGPT beta version.
With this feature, users can instruct the AI chatbot to perform tasks either once or repeatedly at a scheduled time in the future.
Until now, ChatGPT lacked several features that could make it a highly useful digital assistant. This is why the Tasks feature is being integrated into ChatGPT, enabling it to compete directly with digital assistants like Google Assistant and Siri.
In a tweet, the company announced the introduction of this feature, saying that users can now schedule future tasks for ChatGPT.
The company stated that whether it’s a one-time reminder or a recurring task, users can tell ChatGPT what to do and when, and it will take care of it automatically.
The reminders set by users will appear in the ‘Tasks’ page in the profile menu on the web version of ChatGPT. Users can view, modify, or delete them from there.
Users will be allowed to schedule up to 10 tasks at a time.
The company also mentioned that the feature could be used to check the weather every morning, look at stock prices, or learn a new word in a foreign language. Daily AI news summaries can also be obtained through it.
Initially, this feature is being rolled out for users who pay for the monthly ChatGPT subscription, but the company promised that it will be available to free users in the near future.
